I am interested in the fragmentation of place within a psyche that’s increasingly global. My installation projects investigate the idea of being located and relocated. Feelings of displacement and the search for connections in each new context become challenges that drive the work. Architectural elements are referenced and displaced from their original contexts. Animal images embody the tension of the external or the other when brought into the gallery context. Materials like terracotta, which reference multiple places, are combined to demonstrate this tension. These elements activate the space with a minimalist approach.
